ONTIMIZE QUICKSTART

In order to get going quickly, the Quick Start Demo is meant to cover the basics of developing Ontimize applications.
Ontimize is an object oriented framework for developing both standard and web Java applications. It has many loosely coupled components that can be used more or less independently and also a full list of independent advanced modules to extend its range of application such as:

• GIS Component

• Workflow engine with GUI

• Document Management System (DMS)

• Gantt

• Planning

• Scripting

• Bundles

• and so on...

Using all these components, within a short period of time, a full application can be constructed.

The user/password to log into the Quickstart demo are demo/demouser. Try it out!

Moreover, Ontimize allows you to create applications with different profiles. So, in a rapid but standard way developers can configure the application elements to allow each user group, depending on their profile, to see appropriate menu items, execute selected actions, edit allowed fields, ... To be able to see the results of the profile configuration, try other users with different profiles.

MANUAL

This manual allows new Ontimize Users to start to develop applications using Ontimize. The tutorial does not attempt to be comprehensive and cover every single feature, or even every commonly used feature (for more information the Ontimize Wiki, the Developer's Manual and the Ontimize Forum should also be examined).

The Manual does introduce many of Ontimize most noteworthy features, and will give you a good idea of the products flavor and style. After reading it, you will be able to develop Ontimize applications, and you will be ready to learn more about the various “Ontimize More” modules such as, the GIS Component, Workflow engine and GUI, Document Management System (DMS), Gantt, Planning, Scripting, Bundles, ... as described in their manuals, javadocs, and other references.
