Ontimize goes 3D with virtual reality
Hi all,
a new module for displaying 3D components has been developed in Ontimize. It’s is based on the JMonkeyEngine which is a high-performance 3D game engine, written entirely in Java.
Using this component Ontimize users will be able to show and animate 3D models. At the present, formats supported are: Collada DAE and Wavefont.
Here you can see some screen shots which were taken form a virtual reality video displayed using this new Ontimize component.

The Research and Development Ontimize team collaboration for machinima and 3D graphics engines
The Spanish regional government “Xunta de Galicia” supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) from the European Union has chosen the Imatia team to collaborate in an innovative project with another three important national companies and two prestigious universities in order to develop a free 3D virtual world where users can tour and discover St. James’ Way as a pilgrim during medieval times.

The Research and Development Ontimize team helps the implementation of an authoring system on a modern 3D graphics engine to allow machinima content creation. This tool can use a number of 3D engines (OGRE, jMonkey ,..) and allows the user to control the entire life-cycle of the build process of scene generation and content with display in real-time.
