New Ontimize components

Hello world,

New Ontimize components have been developed, such us:

  • the collapsible buttons tool, which allow users to group selected buttons in an animated collapsible button to show or hide them. It can be placed in the form headers.
  • Collapsible button

  • Also a new table button has been developed in order to allow users to calculate selected numeric columns. Custom operations can be edited and performed with its formula editor.
  • View entities in the Server Console when the application is being debugged.
  • HTML viewer field included. In this case, in order to preview grid information with a pretty HTML template.
  • A default XML file to configure the parameters, fields, UImanager properties, classes, and so on, for the whole application.

As always, you are able to see how it works in the Ontimize Quickstart application and also you are able to see how to code it in the Ontimize Quickstart Source Code.

QUICKSTART in Ontimize

Hi everyone,

we would like to announce to all that a full Quick Start demo has been developed with all the Ontimize components and advanced modules inserted in order to show our potential customers, partners and developers some of our standard goals in developments.

This application can be running from the QuickStart section placed in the resources menu of the Ontimize Web Page to show all of you how all the Ontimize fields and the Ontimize Advanced components work, and also the source code of the Quick Start mentioned above is provided on the same page to provide our users with a clear example about how to create an Ontimize project, how to use Ontimize fields, how to insert each one of the advanced components in an Ontimize project, and so on …

Examples of the resources that can be seen and downloaded from the Quickstart application and its code are:

  • whatever Ontimize field (ColumnRadioButtonGroup, PercentDataField. EntityFunctionDataField, MaskDataField, CardPanel, EJDialog, CalculatedDataField, WWWDataField, HyperlinkLabel,  and so much more)
  • whatever Ontimize Advanced Component. Such us, GIS (Geographic Information System), ODMS (Ontimize Document Management System), Workflow, Ontimize Web Services, Gannt, Diagram, Agenda, Microedition, …)
  • whatever new Ontimize Module (DNI-e, permission component, and so on)

Ontimize Resources Page

Hi all,

Some days ago the Ontimize resources page was published, and also the FAQ page and a search bar to look for information in the Ontimize page.

The resource page is a great point to provide developers, with high quality resources to share with important partners, customers and future clients, and also to allow normal web-users to know Ontimize and all the things that we can develop for them. Moreover, it is a good way to demostrate our commitment to our customers towards facilitating and improving their work.
For instance, you can find:

  • The Ontimize Whitepaper to help key decision-makers and influencers justify implementing solutions
  • A full Quick Start demo in Ontimize with all the Ontimize components and advanced modules inserted to be able to show potential customers all our goals in developments.
  • Another Quick Start, which includes the same issues as the previous one, but which can be executed offline. That fact, can be useful during meetings with clients or partners without internet connection.
  • The source code of the Quick Start mentioned above provides our users with a clear example about how to create an Ontimize project, how to use Ontimize fields, how to insert each one of the advanced components in an Ontimize project, and so on …

In the forefront of the wind technology with Ontimize

Imatia, the enterprise that develops Ontimize, is one of the firms chosen to participate in EOLIA, a project headed by worldwide renewable energy leader Acciona Energía and that is backed by an investment of almost 34 million Euros.

Imatia’s team is responsible for developing the software solution that should help determine the optimal positioning of the wind generators, in a way that production can be maximized while keeping costs to a minimum. Therefore, the Imatia R&D Department uses Ontimize and also apply a variety of AI methodologies, as well as GIS technologies.

Successful Ontimize-based solution for e-Government

Cividas, one of the solutions developed by the Imatia team using Ontimize, has been claimed as  the most comfortable and popular solution for e-Government.

This tool is a vertical solution targeted at local administrations and municipalities, which allows  governments to replace the complicated and slow paperwork between the administration and their citizens with quick  and easy  procedures. These procedures can be made by both government employees using the Cividas application and citizens using the e-platform.

As seen in the following press clippings, during the last years more and more public administrations trust in this Ontimize-based solution to manage their government processes.

450 civil servants in 17  local administrations and municipalities trust in this open source solution developed by Imatia and based on Ontimize to make  their paperwork easier. This paperwork ranges from such things as permits and licenses, building permissions, tax management, bill payments, etc. It provides services to more than 750.000 citizens.

Art technology based on Ontimize for aquaculture, Fish Farming and Marine Production

Over recent years, the Imatia team has successfully used Ontimize to develop and maintain software projects for the management of fully equipped fish laboratories, large fish farms, larval rearing tanks, freshwater and seawater storage silos, recirculation units, seawater filtration and treatment complexes, and so on.

Ontimize solutions currently control and monitor some of the largest and most advanced fish farms worldwide. The success of these Ontimize based applications developed by the Imatia team  has prompted an important advance in R&D, which has provided Imatia with the opportunity to participate in one of the most famous and important fish fairs, the World Fishing Exhibition – Aqua Farming 2009.

The Research and Development Ontimize team collaboration for machinima and 3D graphics engines

The Spanish regional government “Xunta de Galicia” supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) from the European Union has chosen the Imatia team to collaborate in an innovative project with another three important national companies and two prestigious universities in order to develop a free 3D virtual world where users can tour and discover St. James’ Way as a pilgrim during medieval times.

The Research and Development Ontimize team helps the implementation of an authoring system on a modern 3D graphics engine to allow machinima content creation. This tool can use a number of  3D engines (OGRE, jMonkey ,..) and allows the user to control the entire life-cycle of the build process of scene generation and content with display in real-time.

Innovative tool for wineries and cellars based on Ontimize

With offices close to some of the famous grape producing areas of Spain and Northern Portugal it should not come as a surprise that the Ontimize team have been involved in building software for companies specializing in the production of wine.

Combining local traditional knowledge in wine production with modern strategy development, technology resource alignment and performance management,  the Imatia team has developed several Ontimize based solutions in order to modernize and maximize added value for several wine vendors and providers, and also to manage and optimize their stores using Ontimize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Ontimize participating at the European Parnet-TIC Conferences

Ontimize, represented by Imatia, was invited to participate in the European Parnet-Tic  Conference from December 15 to 17 in Lugo, Spain, to present their experience as a “Best-practices” example, making keynote speeches  to exchange their knowledge and working experience in the Information Society, and also their impressions.

The European project “Parnet-TIC’ aimed at promoting the Information Society through e-administration and e-participation to rural citizens. Parnet-TIC is integrated into the regional cooperation program ‘Southwest Area 2007-2013′ of the European Union, which provides a network of Rural Areas for access to the Information Society to exchange information and knowledge. Eight territorial governments in  Spain, France and Portugal, which share a similar geographic and demographic situation,  collaborate on this European project.

Ontimize involved in the “Public administrations face the challenge of the Information Society” Seminars

Tecnocom organizes, in collaboration with the Justice  Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Imatia and Nexus, a seminar on “Public administrations facing the challenge of the Information Society”,  Spain.  The aim of these conferences is to examine the role of ICT in the process of adapting the public sector to the information society in order to determine how to make the communication and paperwork management between citizens and their local, regional and national governments  easier and faster.
Imatia has been involved in this congress exposing their know-how about the current situation of the public administrations and the successful results obtained using their modern powerful Ontimize-based solutions platform, called Cividas, which was successfully developed and deployed in several governments to effectively implement processes whilst streamlining citizen interaction, physically, over the web or through other channels.
